Roll any number of dice with a modifier. See each die, the total, and the exact chance of rolling it.
How the dice are rolled
Each die uses your browser's cryptographic random generator with rejection sampling, so every face from 1 to the number of sides has exactly the same chance. The modifier is added once to the total, as in tabletop games: 2d6 + 3 means roll two six-sided dice and add 3.
Average total = number of dice × (sides + 1) ÷ 2 + modifier
Worked example
For 2d6 the average is 2 × (6 + 1) ÷ 2 = 7. There are 6 × 6 = 36 equally likely ways two dice can land, and 6 of them add up to 7 (1+6, 2+5, 3+4, 4+3, 5+2, 6+1). So a 7 comes up 6 ÷ 36 = 16.67% of the time, while 2 and 12 each come up only 1 time in 36 (2.78%).
Why totals bunch up in the middle
One die is flat: every face is equally likely. Add more dice and middle totals have more ways to happen, so the chances form a hill. The table under each roll shows the exact chance of every total, worked out by counting all combinations.
Limitations
- Up to 100 dice with 2 to 1,000 sides each. Exact odds are shown when the number of combinations is small enough to count quickly.
- Game rules like advantage, exploding dice or dropping the lowest die aren't applied. Roll and pick by hand for those.

Questions people ask
What does 2d6 mean?
Roll two six-sided dice and add them. The number before the d is how many dice; the number after is how many sides each one has.
What's the most common roll with two dice?
7. Six of the 36 combinations add up to 7, a 16.67% chance.
Is an online dice roller fair?
This one is. It uses your device's cryptographic random generator and rejection sampling, so every face has exactly the same chance.
What is a d100?
A 100-sided roll, giving 1 to 100. At the table it's usually rolled as two ten-sided dice, one for tens and one for ones.
