What it does
This money counter adds up cash the way you'd count a register drawer. Type how many of each bill and coin you have, and it shows the total, the bills and coins subtotals, and a line-by-line count. If you leave a starting cash amount (a float) in the drawer, enter it and the calculator shows how much to deposit. The print button prints the page without the site menus, so you can keep a paper record of the count.
Below the counter, a second tool answers questions like "how many nickels make 2 dollars?"
How it's calculated
Everything is counted in whole cents, so a long list of pennies never shows a rounding error.
Worked example
A drawer holds one $100 bill, five $20s, three $10s, four $5s and twelve $1s. That's $100 + $100 + $30 + $20 + $12 = $262 in bills. The coins are 18 quarters ($4.50), 9 dimes ($0.90), 6 nickels ($0.30) and 23 pennies ($0.23), which is $5.93. The drawer holds $267.93. With a $150 float left in the drawer, the deposit is $267.93 − $150 = $117.93.

Limitations
- It counts face value only. It doesn't check for counterfeit bills or value collectible coins.
- US bills and coins only. For wrapped coin, the coin roll calculator counts whole rolls for you.
- Nothing is saved or sent anywhere. Use print or "Copy link to this result" if you need to keep the count.
